Baccarat Ballroom The ballroom has a traditional style, that of the magnificent Baroque of the 18th century, with double windows requisite for such rooms. Reliefs on the walls and ceiling, an ornate ceiling painting, a fireplace of white Italian marble, candelabra, and enormous mirrors – the hall's decorations have been preserved from the time of the Eliseevs. It is these mirrors that until 1917 shone at glittering balls, mascarades, nights of music, grand assemblies, and later, when it was a part of the building of the legendary House of Arts, poetry readings by Alexander Blok, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Osip Mandelstam, Nikolai Gumilev and other celebrated Russian poets. Тhe hall is decorated by unique standing lamps made of crystal at the Baccarat factory in France commissioned for the mansion's former owners. In the restoration of the inlaid parquet extremely rare green oak was used, a material so rare that even the State Hermitage does not have any items made from it. Its 19th-century interiors are the ideal place for grand banquets and conferences. | Name | Area | Seating type | | Room | sq.m. | Theatre | Classroom | U – shape | Round table | Square table. | Reception | | Baccarat ballroom | 137 | 96 | 48 | 32-52 | 32 | 36 | 100 | |
